Holiday Party

Yesterday we had our holiday party.  The students had fun making snowmen out of socks and rice.  Thank you so much to our parent volunteers - Mrs. Pelletier, Mrs. Blanchette, Mrs. Bruker, and our class photographer Mr. Micalizzi.  Also, thank you to all of the parents that brought in snacks and goods for the party.

Students showing off their completed snowmen.

Games were played and treats were enjoyed.  Sweet tart candy canes helped color the mood (and tongues) bright!!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday break.  See you in the New Year!!!!!

Halloween Party

Students had an enjoyable time at the class Halloween party.   Thanks to all of the parents that provided refreshments for the class!!!!!
Halloween dab fest.

Pumpkins helped decorate our room.

Science

Students have been learning about simple machines in science.  The first two simple machines we have studied are levers and inclined planes.

Students experimented with the position of the load and the effort in relation to the fulcrum on a class one lever to determine where the greatest mechanical advantage is found.

Students also used clay to make inclined planes to better understand how we trade distance for effort.

Students had the opportunity to lift classmates to learn more about the advantage provided by simple machines.
